The mission of the University of Wisconsin–Madison Department of Kinesiology is to create, interpret, transmit, and apply knowledge related to movement, exercise, and human occupation with the ultimate goal of enhancing human health, productivity, and quality of life.

Video games teach balance, reduce symptoms in autistic adolescents
While balance training may not necessarily sound fun to most adolescents, video games typically do. And for adolescents with autism spectrum disorder, video games that improve their balance by teaching them yoga and tai chi poses also improve their posture, reduce the severity of their autism symptoms, and influence the structure of their brains.
PE students are helping kids stay active this Thanksgiving
Students in UW–Madison’s Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) program have teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County to share ideas for games kids can do at home with their families during the holiday break from school.
My Cause My Cleats: Former Badgers standout Biegel supporting UW–Madison’s Adapted Fitness program
Former Badgers football standout and current Miami Dolphins linebacker Vince Biegel wore a special set of cleats during Sunday’s game against the New York Giants that spotlighted — and eventually will help raise funds for — UW–Madison’s Adapted Fitness program.
