We would like to give a huge shout out to our own Alexia Rebne and Sarah Zurawski for completing their post-professional occupational therapy doctorates! Along with the rest of their cohort, Lexi and Sarah presented their final capstone projects during a virtual symposium last Thursday 5/7. Their presentations, which you may view below, are the culmination of three years of hard work. Both presentations are driven by their careers in the program and will continue to push us to be better than we already are. We are incredibly proud of what they have done, and immensely grateful to have them on our OT team!
Alexia Rebne is the OT Program Admissions Coordinator. Her work is focused on the design of an evidence-based opportunity to support underrepresented pre-occupational therapy students. Everyone who meets Lexi can tell that she is deeply passionate about building relationships, and creating culturally-sensitive learning environments that support all of our students. She reminds us all of who we want to become rather than who we are right now and we are excited to see the impact she will have on our future as an OT program!
Sarah Zurawski is an instructor for the program. Her work focuses on preparing future occupational therapists to meet the unmet mental health and quality of life needs of people living with Parkinson disease. Sarah’s love for humanity and her desire to remove the barriers for individuals to participate in meaningful occupations make her extremely well equipped to train students who will go on to be well-rounded leaders in the field. We only hope that our students will be as committed to growth and excellence in their lives as Sarah is in hers!
