Congratulations to Mallory Dixon, Eleanor Jansen, Gunnar Roberge, and Cecilia Rosborough for receiving the UW-Madison Leadership Certificate. These students have committed to developing their own leadership capacity and to excel both inside and outside the classroom.
While at UW- Madison, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow in so many aspects especially through reflection during the Leadership certificate. I have learned how to more effectively serve the people around me and more positively lead others in my life. I am beyond grateful for all that UW-Madison has provided me with and look forward to continuing to grow and learn while getting my masters at The University of South Carolina.

The Leadership Certificate has offered me a unique chance to visualize, reflect, and celebrate the impact I have had during my time here at UW. This process has given me the opportunity to identify my strengths, weaknesses, and skills as a leader in various settings. Moving forward, I hope to apply what I have learned throughout this experience in the field of health care by pursuing a Master’s in Healthcare Administration after graduation.
– Eleanor Jansen
The leadership certificate program has increased my confidence in building meaningful relationships and connecting with my community. Participating in student organizations, leadership courses, and community service events have helped me develop better self-awareness and interpersonal communication skills. These skills will help me create positive changes within my community, family, and future careers in both healthcare and scientific research.
– Gunnar Roberge
Through my work with the leadership certificate I have developed integrity, community building skills, and inclusive engagement strategies through my work with Recreation and Wellbeing, Meriter Hospital, Tennyson Assisted Living Facility, Kinesiology club and Special Olympics. These skills will help me as I continue on to get my Masters in Public health and hopefully one day work in a government setting where I can influence public health policies.
