Student/Sport Club Grant Application

If you plan to submit an application, a letter of intent is REQUIRED. Please fill out a letter of intent using the online form. Research Grants, Student & Sport clubs, Special Project & Visiting Scholars, and New Course Development require a letter of intent be submitted by JANUARY 15, 2022.

Funding is awarded to support initiatives by recreational sports clubs to increase involvement and physical activity among women (e.g. women specific recruitment efforts, purchase of equipment sized to women, etc.) and promote health. Funding for student recreational sport clubs is not intended to be ongoing operational support.

Applications for student & sport club support must contain the following information:

  1. A cover page with the proposal title, name(s) of the Student Coordinator and Faculty/Staff Sponsor and address, phone number, fax number and e-mail address for the contact person.
  2. A two-page proposal for the project.  Within the two pages, the proposal must address:
    • The mission of the student group requesting the funds. Briefly describe the activities of the group.
    • The number of current participants in the student group and the percentage of current regular participants that are women. The group’s plan or strategy for increasing the number of women involved.
    • How the proposed student project relates to women’s physical education, movement, health and the female body in culture.  The potential impact of the project on women in general.
    • The activities of the proposed project, when and where they will occur.
    • The student group’s plans for ongoing support of the project.
  3. Include a copy of the student group’s current budget including the other sources of funding that support the student group.  Using the format attached, detail the budget for the project. Describe how the requested funds will enhance the activities of the student project. Include a brief justification for each item being requested.
  4. If your group has previously received support from this fund, you must provide a 1 page progress report for any projects still in process or a final report of the most recent project funded from this source.

The committee may contact applicants for additional information or interviews.

All components of the application should be merged into 1 PDF document and submitted with the following format for the file name: ClubName_YEAR(YYYY).pdf

Include a copy of the student group’s current budget including the other sources of funding that support the student group. Please upload a completed Budget Sheet 2022. Include a brief justification for each item being requested.   ONLY ENTER INFORMATION IN THE SHADED/COLORED FIELDS. An Example Budget Sheet is provided here for your convenience.

In addition to an Excel Sheet with the proposed budget for the grant, please attach a copy of your full operational budget for the year. Travel fund requests for Sport Clubs are not to exceed $2000 and should include justification.
